O mně

Who am I?

My name is Martina Sloupová and I am the mother of a seventeen-year-old daughter, whom I am slowly letting step into adult life. From the age of 19 to 40 I was an accountant, body and soul. I built my own successful accounting firm, to which I sacrificed everything. My thinking was, and still is, very analytical. But the pressure and constant workload took their toll – I completely burned out and eventually had to sell the company. At the time, it felt like a life failure and a terrible situation. With distance, however, I see it as the best thing that could have happened to me. It was a wake-up call.

After some time, life threw me into the woods, into almost complete solitude in Pěnčín. I didn’t know anyone here, I bought a house that was not exactly in great condition, and I started to build Aloha Balance Studio literally from the ground up, on my own. During the first winter in that old house and in that solitude, I thought I wouldn’t make it, mentally or physically.

I’m not saying this to boast or to evoke pity, but to be honest. I am a single mother and relationships are an area where I have my weaknesses and where I have had to go through tough lessons. Those harsh, lonely beginnings in Pěnčín were also an enormous test for me.

The path through turning points

My life has been full of twists, intense emotions and pivotal moments. I went through severe burnout and serious health problems that stopped me completely for a time. Today I know that life never gives a person a situation they are not capable of handling.

What really holds us back are not the situations themselves, but our past, unprocessed emotions and automatic emotional reactions. When we carry old grievances and painful memories within us, they generate emotions that drain all our life energy. There is then no space left in our mind for growth, joy or creativity. It is simply too full of what has been – whether it’s old patterns from the time when I was driven by performance in accounting, or fears from that freezing first winter in solitude, or memories from childhood and the recent past.

The connection between body and mind

Everything within us is deeply interconnected. When a person loses physical energy because of this inner pressure and is completely exhausted, they cannot manage anything even on the level of the conscious mind. One can tell oneself a hundred times, logically, what needs to be done, but without physical strength it simply doesn’t work. Body and mind cannot be separated.

My own path to harmony and freedom therefore did not lead through hard discipline. To be honest, I am not exactly a highly disciplined person. I discovered that pressure for performance and perfection only paralyzes us further. True healing and a real restart begin when body and mind are allowed to switch off, release old blocks and find lost balance. And that is exactly what I now help others to discover.
